Happy 1st Birthday Kyle!!

We decided to stay at home for Kyle's first birthday. No party fuss, just the four of us. Matt and Emma chose the "Cars" theme for his birthday and Matt found a small bakery that made Kyle's precious cake. I cooked two of Kyle's favorite foods, chicken nuggets and mac & cheese. He loved every last bite. It was a great day and much laughing was had and lots of hugs and kisses were given to the little boy who keeps us on our toes and never fails to put a smile on our faces. As big sister Emma put it last night in her prayers, "Thank you God for birthday time. It makes my heart happy."

A sweet friend reminded me that I needed to update my blog with a new picture of the kids. So here it is.
I'll post more later when we take Kyle to the rodeo next month for his birthday. That's right, he will be one on March 2nd. I am still trying to figure out where the year went.

Pigtails and Time Out

After three years of waiting, we FINALLY have pigtails!!! Yippee!

And last week some of Emma's behavior choices landed her in the time out spot at school. While we are not at all thrilled about this change in her (Heather cried on Thursday after Ms. Vickie told her what was happening and will still tear up, so please don't ask her) we did get a laugh from this shirt.

I wish these two would slow down and let me have a minute to enjoy how precious and little they are. Alas, they continue to grow up so quickly!

Banana Legs and Princess Toes

Emma told me the other day with great concern in her voice, "Uh oh Mommy. My toes are gone." This confused me and so I said, "Are you sure because I see ten pretty princess toes on your feet." What Emma meant was that her toe polish had worn off...soooo the cutie toes in the middle are hers. If you look closely at her left leg you can see the many bruises at various healing stages that seem to never go away. While painting her toes I said, "Emma, you have banana legs." She laughed so hard at me and said, "That silly. My legs are not yellow." I just love how literal kids are.
